Dana Rymarz has been a certified personal trainer for over 20 years. Her love of fitness began at age 13 when she discovered that weight training could change her body shape, while making her feel strong. While attending Caldwell University in New Jersey, she taught senior citizen aerobics and was a spin instructor. Her career path led her to medical device sales; however, physical fitness was always paramount. Dana kickboxed during pregnancies and ran her first full marathon right after giving birth!
After moving to Florida and having two small children to raise, The Consulting Firm Personal Training, LLC, https://danasfirm.com/ was born. It afforded her the luxury of staying at home with her children while also sharing her passion for fitness with others. Her studio gym in Jupiter has flourished by word of mouth and personal referrals for over 18 years! Dana is dedicated to every individual and their specific needs. She specializes in individual training taking into consideration age, weight, injuries, and fitness levels. She has trained many to push themselves far beyond what they thought was possible. Believing that age is just a “level”, Dana recently challenged herself to push her own body to compete in a body building competition on “level” 52. Her goal is to remain strong and age healthfully.
Dana holds certifications with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) in personal training and nutrition, AFPA (American Fitness Professional Association) in fitness training, sports nutrition counseling, youth sports coach, strength ball training coach and strength band training coach. She has worked locally with Palm Beach Diabetes, and Body Street which uses Electro Muscle Stimulation technology and has been a volleyball coach with Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association for the last 6 years. In her free time, Dana enjoys playing tennis, walking with her husband, cooking healthy meals for her family and loving all of her fur babies.
Karen Plump is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Muscular Pain and Sports Injuries, practicing massage therapy for over 20 years. Karen’s interest in massage began when she was a graduate student at Cornell University. She received sports massage while training to run her first marathon and was amazed by the benefits it provided. She noticed an improvement in her focus, greater energy levels, and a significant decrease in recovery time between runs.
Upon graduating and working in an office environment, Karen realized that she wanted a career that was more physically challenging and connected her to the human body and spirit. In 1995, she entered The Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in New York City. At the Swedish Institute she received rigorous training in anatomy and physiology and the basics of practicing massage. Her knowledge of anatomy combined with additional continuing education coursework in deep tissue, sports massage, reflexology and orthopedic/medical massage have allowed her to develop a unique style of massage that incorporates the principles of each modality into her work.
Karen then pursued a post baccalaureate pre-med program at City College in New York City in hopes of applying her knowledge and hands on skills as a physician. While the coursework gave her the scientific knowledge to become a better therapist, she realized that her heart was not in administering medication and working in hospitals. She wanted to be on the front lines of preventative care as a professional who helps people without prescribing drugs and using high tech machinery. She thrives on the simplicity of massage, that with two hands, an elbow and a forearm, she can greatly impact her clients’ health and well-being.
